Twin-Field Quantum Key Distribution with Fully Discrete Phase Randomization

چکیده
Twin-field (TF) quantum key distribution (QKD) can overcome fundamental secret-key-rate bounds on point-to-point QKD links, allowing us to reach longer distances than ever before. Since its introduction, several TF-QKD variants have been proposed, and some of them already implemented experimentally. Most assume that the users emit weak coherent pulses with a continuous random phase. In practice, this assumption is often not satisfied, which could open up security loopholes in their implementations. To close loophole, we propose prove variant relies exclusively discrete phase randomisation. Remarkably, our results show it also provide higher secret-key rates counterpart protocols rely

Hacking on decoy-state quantum key distribution system with partial phase randomization
Quantum key distribution (QKD) provides means for unconditional secure key transmission between two distant parties. However, in practical implementations, it suffers from quantum hacking due to device imperfections. Here we propose a hybrid measurement attack, with only linear optics, homodyne detection, and single photon detection, to the widely used vacuum + weak decoy state QKD system when ...

متن کاملFully device-independent quantum key distribution.
Quantum cryptography promises levels of security that are impossible to replicate in a classical world. Can this security be guaranteed even when the quantum devices on which the protocol relies are untrusted? This central question dates back to the early 1990s when the challenge of achieving device-independent quantum key distribution was first formulated. We answer this challenge by rigorousl...
متن کاملDifferential Phase Shift Quantum Key Distribution
A novel quantum cryptography scheme is proposed, in which a single photon is prepared in a linear superposition state of three basis kets. A photon split to three pulses is sent from Alice to Bob, where the phase difference between sequential two pulses carries bit information. Bob measures the phase difference by passive differential phase detection. This scheme is suitable for fiber transmiss...
متن کاملQuantum Key Distribution with Multi Letter Phase-Shift Keying
We present a new protocol for quantum key distribution using discrete phase-shift encoding with continuous variables. The novelty of the protocol is multi letter alphabets represented by coherent states of light with fixed amplitude and variable phase. Information is encoded in the phase of a coherent states which can be chosen from a regular discrete set consisting of an arbitrary number of le...
